The Seasonal Cashier provides excellent customer service while accurately processing sales, payments, returns, and exchanges. This position supports Cadet Store operations during peak periods and assists customers with merchandise and basic product information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process transactions accurately.
  • Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, returns, and exchanges in accordance with store policies.
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer and report discrepancies.
  • Assist with stocking, pricing, organizing, and displaying merchandise.
  • Maintain a clean, organized checkout area, sales floor, and stock areas.
  • Follow all cash-handling, safety, security, and customer service procedures.
  • Support special events, including matriculation, graduation, and other high-volume store operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail or cashier experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • This role will require standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. 

Seasonal Requirements

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak periods.
  • Dependable and punctual attendance.
  • Willingness to work during matriculation, graduation, and other major store events.
  • Employment is temporary and based on operational needs.
