Job Responsibilities

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator. Serves as The Citadel’s primary liaison with South Carolina Department of Agriculture Food Safety Officers. This role will coordinate the Citadel’s Dining services quality assurance program to ensure compliance with campus standards and state and municipal law; will also serve as the campus food safety expert. The responsibility of this role will include the following:

• Develops and executes a quality control audit plan to ensure compliance with campus standards, contracts, and state and municipal laws, conducting approximately 200 audits per year across all campus dining locations.
• Prepares and presents audit reports to senior leadership and foodservice contractors.
• Maintains an inventory of all foodservice equipment and ensures that equipment is working properly; coordinates and tracks facility and equipment repair with Facilities & Engineering, the Auxiliary Services Maintenance Technician, and/or the equipment service provider.
• Tracks purchase information and warranty dates and assist with the development of an equipment replacement schedule; as well as coordinating the removal and surplus of old or malfunctioning equipment. 
• Represents Auxiliary Services on various committees as assigned and attends meetings as necessary.
• Plans, implements, and coordinates special projects and performs other activities as directed in support of institutional and divisional goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and experience in food safety and quality control.  Ability to communicate effectively with others orally and in writing. Ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine if services and processes comply with state regulations, standards, and contractual requirements. Ability to analyze data and information in making decisions and solving problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships well with people at all levels are essential. Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational and managerial skills. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and explain South Carolina Retail Food Establishments Regulation 61-25 and SC Department of Agriculture’s policies, standards, procedures and controls for food safety. Occasional evening and weekend work.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with RizePoint software system preferred.
