Job Responsibilities

The Citadel’s Zucker Family School of Education invites applicants for an adjunct faculty position in the Division of Teacher Education. The selected applicant will supervise pre-service social studies education candidates (grades 7-12) during their student teaching experience. In addition to supervising and evaluating pre-service candidates, the selected applicant may be expected to teach an internship seminar one evening per week in a formal class setting. The selected applicant must have availability during the day to complete observations of student teachers.

Minimum Qualifications

An earned master's or doctorate from an accredited university in teacher education, curriculum and instruction, or related field with specific emphasis in social studies education; at least three years of experience as a 7-12 social studies teacher and/or 7-12 certified professional in the area of social studies; ability to use and model technology as an instructional tool; ability to collaborate with local schools; and preparing professional educators to work in school environments. 

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated success as an instructor in higher education across multiple modalities (e.g., in-person or online).
