Job Responsibilities

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking an Events Coordinator in The Office of The President. This role will assist the Director of Executive Events in coordinating official events hosted by the President, the President’s Spouse, the Board of Visitors and other officials of the College. Also coordinates with The Citadel Foundation and other campus entities on various events as required. In addition, this role will assist with the following:

  • Assists and collates guest lists and data, and other sensitive data.
  • Maintains databases and assists with invitations and other mailings, responses, seating charts, site layouts, event nametags and all other associated materials and tasks.
  • Assists in the management of a nine-bedroom, one kitchen suite complex used primarily by The Citadel Board of Visitors.
  • Assists in supervision and assignments for Cadet Presidential Aides; these cadets assist Executive Events at official functions.
  • Assists in preparing routine correspondence and donor gifts for the President and spouse.
  • Secures outside accommodations as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of (2)two years' professional related event experience (examples include, but not limited to, special event planning, non-profit event planning, corporate event planning, sports event planning, hospitality management or venue management). Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to multitask. expected to use good judgment in making day-to-day decisions and will be afforded independence when completing team tasks; effectively consults with the Director of Executive Events and Executive Assistant to the President on major decisions.
