Career Education Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applications for a Career Education Coordinator in the Career Center.  This role will have the responsibility of the following:

  • Serves as a comprehensive career coaching/counseling and advising resource, primarily for students and as needed for alumni. 
  • Provides career planning, preparation, and job search strategies through both group and individual programming methods.
  • Coordinates career education programs and presentations for the department and in conjunction with other Citadel offices. 
  • Serves as an interdisciplinary course instructor for campus-wide collaborative efforts. 
  • Develops and implements new programs and presentations for continuous improvement of services provided. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree area and at least (2) two years of experience in higher education and/or counseling, recruiting, training, or teaching. Excellent instructional, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills essential. Proven ability to effectively present to large and small groups. Ability to learn computerized Career Center systems and to develop and use web-based instruction required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in career development, higher education, student administration, counseling, recruiting or related experience preferred.  Experience with applicant tracking or Career Management Systems (Handshake) and other online career management systems like Canvas, career assessments, and other career education resources preferred.  Experience in higher education and career development preferred.
