Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking applicants for a Manager of Student Services, Recruitment, and Marketing in the Zucker Family School of Education. The Manager of Student services, Recruitment, and Marketing in the Zucker Family School of Education (ZFSOE) reports to the Department Head and is responsible for building and sustaining a robust culture of clinical partnerships, advising onboarding, and marketing (including social media and website leadership) efforts within the ZFSOE related to its majors, minors, certificate programs, and continuing education offerings. In addition, this role will assist with the following:

Clinical Placements and Community Partnership:

  • Work with program coordinators/program faculty to align field experiences, practicum, and internships with their learning goals for students
  • Coordinate and implement internships and field experiences for undergraduate and graduate students in local schools and community agencies, matching students' requirements, preferences, and availability with actual opportunities
  • Serve as the point of contact for school administrators and teachers, community partner administrators, and ZFSOE faculty, staff, and students for all clinical experiences (i.e., field-experiences, internships, and student teaching)

 

Advising:

  • Provide support for all advising processes across all programs in the ZFSOE.
  • Works closely with Department Head on course scheduling to identify specific students for specific coursework
  • Assign and keep centralized data on cohort assignments and advisor assignments for incoming students
  • Communicate with students regarding Praxis score updates and progress towards their degree using Degree Works to identify missing requirements.

 

Onboarding:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain systems for onboarding new students, including communication for new student orientation sessions with Program Coordinator, updating and refreshing the student onboarding portal, and providing information to potential students about programs in the ZFSOE
  • Update Student Business Services and Financial Aid departments on active cohort lists and requests for new cohort designations

 

Recruiting and Marketing:

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with area school districts to enhance students' placement opportunities and enhance ZFSOE’s mission and goals
  • Coordinate recruitment plans, including presentations to prospective students and parents and participation in networking events; to include virtual information sessions, work with the Alumni Association on recruitment efforts
  • Work with OCM to design marketing materials; work to maintain the website, content and photos

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field
  • Experience in K-16 education
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of website editing and social media
