Administrative Assistant - Office of The President
The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking an assistant to serve on a team of administrative professionals supporting the President (retired Four Star Marine General), Provost, Chief of Staff, Executive team, and their respective staffs.
This role will report to the Chief of Staff and work with the President’s Executive Assistant to maintain the 'front of house' environment in President's Office.
- Specific duties include greeting visitors, managing incoming communications and creating a professional atmosphere for college leadership.
- Assist in management and oversight of physical upkeep of President's Office spaces.
- Assists with calendar and travel; document organization and filing; assisting with producing and compiling briefing documents for President and Executive Team.
- Administrative correspondence distribution.
- Assisting President’s protocol staff as needed for event preparation and presence.
Will assist the Provost and Provost’s Executive Assistant by filling in for Executive Assistant, and Provost’s Assistant as needed. May assist with research, writing, presentation preparation, and publication editing. Assists the Provost staff on significant events such as Commencement.
In addition, will support the Special Assistant to the Board of Visitors and aid in administrative preparation and archival tasks supporting the Board of Visitors. Support off-hours events as required and directed by Executive Events (Protocol/Events) on a case-by-case basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree required with progressive administrative experience working in support of a senior leader. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Will have limited supervision; sound judgement; ability to work both as a team member and independently. Must be able to take initial guidance/direction and see tasks through completion with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience with former/retired military personnel, such as Senior Enlisted/Warrant/Limited Duty Officers or administrative experience supporting Flag Officers preferred but not required.
