Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is seeking an applicant for the Deputy Director for Cadet Admissions role on campus. Reporting to the Director of Cadet Admissions, the Deputy Director for Cadet Admissions is responsible for overseeing and executing communication strategies, recruitment management, and admissions operations to meet the strategic goals of the college. This position will also be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee the integration of communication strategies into the recruitment process, ensuring effective coordination with stakeholders.
  • Assist in the creation and management of a comprehensive recruitment strategy for the Corps of Cadets, targeting various stages of the enrollment funnel (recruitment, selection, yield).
  • Coordinate recruitment activities including college fairs, high school and community college visits, and alumni engagement.
  • Work with Associate Directors to implement recruitment strategies.
  • Evaluate current practices and propose new, data-driven approaches to enhance recruitment effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree AND 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in admissions; with a focus on undergraduate recruitment.                    
  • Strong knowledge and experience in recruitment and admissions strategies for traditional undergraduate students.
  • A deep understanding of admissions and enrollment management principles.
  • Experience in team leadership, training, and professional development.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred and several years of experience in admissions and recruitment in an education setting; higher education preferable.
  • Proficient in the use of BANNER and Slate (CRM) software; advanced knowledge preferred particularly with respect to Slate. Significant experience in managing communications and CRM platforms, particularly in higher education.
  • Familiarity with data-driven decision-making processes and continuous improvement strategies in higher education admissions.
