The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a commercial laundry cashier! This role provides service for cadets checking in and checking out the cadet laundry bundle with the proper barracks and provide cadets with freshly cleaned garments. This role will be responsible for laundry operations as well other duties assigned by the Director.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Serves as a customer service representative and cashier.
- Utilizes a point-of-sale system to process dry-cleaning and laundry orders and payment.
- Inspects, tags and sorts garments according to the care label to prepare them for cleaning.
- Inspects and bags garments after they have been cleaned.
- Provides back-up support in the laundry plant as necessary.
- Checks in and checks out cadet laundry, including sorting, labeling, heat sealing and classifying garments for proper care.
- Performs other related duties as required by Supervisor (Cross Training).
- Responsible for keeping customer service area and work area clean, including laundry equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED. Knowledge of POS system required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a cashier a plus. Experience in commercial laundry operations, laundry classification, pressing and dry-cleaning operations.
