Job Responsibilities:
The Citadel, The Military College is seeking an applicant for a Student Services Specialist in the Registrar’s Office. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for working directly with students provides advice regarding the college's academic policies and procedures. Specific tasks include the following:
- Responsible for front desk coverage and welcoming visitors to the office. Provides superior customer service to all parties while at the same time representing the Office of the Registrar in a highly professional manner. Facilitates positive and compassionate responses to the needs of each student. Processes approved forms and student record changes in the Banner system.
- Monitors and responds to phone and email inquiries, providing advice regarding the college's academic policies and procedures.
- Assists other team members within the Office of the Registrar with various office processes to ensure that deadlines and priorities are achieved.
- Facilitates resolution of problems and assists with registration alone or in conjunction with staff across the college.
- Responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting transcript orders through third-party service provider, Parchment.
- Files, scans documents, operates office equipment, identifies and suggests areas for process improvement, and is able to work independently and professionally.
- Communicates effectively to assure the integrity of college processes and procedures. Promotes a culture of adherence to college policies.
- Possesses a working knowledge of and enforces the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Assists with commencement and matriculation-related duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree is required. Must have the ability to work with details with a high degree of accuracy, discretion, and confidentiality. Must have an understanding of computer principles. Must possess good interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. Needs to exhibit excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Banner and student services preferred.
