Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Office of Financial Aid. This will work to follow the guidelines set forth by federal and local regulations regarding Financial Aid programs and will be responsible for the following:

• Advises students applying for financial aid as to the types of aid available, application procedures and the federal regulations regarding such aid.
• Keeps individual student aid records as required for each systems program; maintains individual student records regarding loan and scholarship checks.
• Maintains automated and manual financial aid records for each student applying for financial aid, to ensure audit trail and provide necessary information for local, state, and federal reports.
• Enters information into computer from application documents such as income tax forms and financial aid transcripts. Corresponds with student regarding incomplete records and current status.
• Responds to external requests from agencies for financial aid information about individuals (transcripts).
• Follows established guidelines and exercises discretion about the release of confidential information in accordance with Federal guidelines.
• Performs clerical and administrative duties relating to financial aid.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma or higher.  Previous administrative experience required.  Must be proficient in Word, Excel, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in higher education.  Previous experience in a financial aid office setting.  Banner experience a plus.
