Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is seeking applicants for the position of Campus Support Technician within the Information and Technology Services department.

• Collaborate with The Citadel’s Information Technology Services team to deliver technical support to faculty, staff, and students.

• Perform daily campus technology support tasks using The Citadel’s IT ticket system, including on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of faculty, staff, and student computer systems, as well as classroom AV support.

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair all computing equipment, including Windows-compatible and Apple computers, laser-jet printers, scanners, projectors, and AV equipment.

• Conduct comprehensive computer software installation and configuration. Assist in documentation and provide formal and informal training to end users.

• Conduct routine maintenance checks on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.

 

Minimum and Additional Requirements:

• Associate degree in computer science or a related field with at least two (2) years of relevant experience OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of four (4) years' experience in computer system analysis, AV support, design, testing, debugging, and maintenance techniques.

• Proficiency in Windows operating systems is essential. Exceptional customer service skills and a strong dedication to delivering outstanding service are required.

• Demonstrated understanding and appreciation for the unique needs of users in an academic environment. Must exhibit tact and sensitivity when interacting with a diverse user community.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative. Punctuality and reliability are paramount.

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required. Must possess a valid SC driver's license and be able to operate a van and golf cart.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• CompTIA Certifications such as A+, Network+, and Security+ are preferred.

• CTS certification and familiarity with Extron Control systems is advantageous.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, coupled with relevant experience, is desirable.
