Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is seeking a Dry Cleaning and Laundry Presser in the Laundry Department.  This role is to provide a service for cadets, faculty and staff of clean sanitary, pressed garments.  Will be responsible for operating pressing equipment, i.e, flat head press, automatic pant unit and automatic shirt presses; including touch ups or replacing missing buttons. Will receive and sort laundry according to classification, i.e., cotton, polyester, blend, inspecting same for proper name, ID#, Company, per blue book instructions. Shakes out and sorts semi-dry flatwork and garments preparatory to feeding into finishing machine. Responsible for keeping work area clean, including laundry equipment.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. Ability to follow oral instructions. No experience required. Two to four weeks of job training. knowledge of laundry routines. Ability to press garments to assure it is neat and wrinkle free. Must be willing to be "Cross Trained".

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in laundry, supply or sewing operations that is directly related to the area of employment desired.
