Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for the position of Alumni Clubs Coordinator. The Alumni Clubs Coordinator works directly for the Associate Vice President for Alumni Affairs to support planning and implementing comprehensive alumni programs and services for the Office of Alumni Affairs.

The coordinator will be responsible for many dynamic tasks which require independent thought and strong decision-making skills to accomplish the operations of our alumni office. The candidate must have the knowledge, skills and abilities to establish good working relationships with our staff, alumni, The Citadel Alumni Association Board of Directors, The Citadel Foundation, parents, students and other stakeholders. He or she will be directly responsible for cultivating the alumni club network and related affinity groups to enhance participation, assisting with planning new alumni events, developing outreach programs and researching target areas for club formation. The coordinator will ensure alumni program needs are met through resource planning, system tracking and management, as well as by educating stakeholders about alumni benefits and engaging them in those programs. Alongside the staff, he or she will aid in the execution of all special alumni activities and events. The coordinator will support the overall communications strategy and plan, including generating content and promoting and protecting our brand. Strong interpersonal and communication written and verbal skills to handle the needs of our alumni population, along with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks are essential. This is a full time, salaried, exempt position which requires the ability and willingness to travel and work long hours including evenings and weekends.


Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree and related experience in an area such as alumni development, fundraising, prospect research, or business development.


Preferred Qualifications:

A Master’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in alumni relations, higher education, and an affinity for The Citadel, its mission, and its core values.
