Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel’s Zucker Family School of Education invites applicants for an adjunct faculty position in the Division of Teacher Education to be filled for the fall and spring semesters this year and in the future. The selected applicant will teach day classes in our undergraduate programs that lead to initial teacher certification in the areas of social studies, biology, chemistry, and physical education. Based on need and qualifications, there might be opportunity to teach in our MAT program in the evenings which leads to initial teacher certification in the areas of social studies, biology, mathematics, English, and physical education.

These courses include topics on child development, adolescent development, peer counseling, methods, educational pyschology, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctorate from an accredited university in teacher education, curriculum and instruction, educational psychology, child development or related field; demonstrated success as a P-12 teacher and/or P-12 certified professional; ability to use and model technology as an instructional tool; ability to collaborate with local P-12 school districts; and preparing professional educators to work in school environments.    

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching skills that employ a variety of instructional strategies in both face-to-face and online environments as well as previous experience teaching at the collegiate level.
