The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Citadel School of Engineering is ranked #16 in the 2022 U.S. News and World Report for undergraduate engineering programs up to a masters. The department is primarily focused on education and is dedicated to educating principled engineering leaders that innovatively impact the world.  The Citadel’s ECE department offers undergraduate degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering as well as a non-thesis MSEE degree.  There are two distinct groups of undergraduate students: members of the Corps of Cadets, who take classes during the day in a military environment, and civilian evening students, who complete their upper division courses at The Citadel.  There is also a sizable active duty and veteran cohort.  The MSEE program is also taught in the evenings and online.

Located in historic Charleston, South Carolina, The Citadel, ranked the #1 Public College in the South by the U.S. News and World Report, is a distinctive institution that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the humanities, business, math, science, engineering, and education.  With an enrollment of more than 2100, the Corps of Cadets is the nation’s largest military college program outside the service academies. All cadets are educated within a classic military system, and about 35 percent of the graduating seniors earn military commissions. The remaining graduates attend graduate school or enter the job market.  The Citadel Graduate College serves residents of South Carolina’s beautiful Lowcountry and includes our full-time evening undergraduate programs, and part-time graduate MSEE degree programs.

The academic programs at the college are complemented by a strong commitment to service and emphatic support of an honor code that calls upon a cadet not to lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do. Since its founding in 1842, The Citadel’s emphasis on character as well as intellect has produced generations of graduates who have served their nation, their professions, and their communities with distinction.
